HOMEOWNER MOVES INTO HURRICANE RELIEF HOUSE

Press Releases :: HOMEOWNER MOVES INTO HURRICANE RELIEF HOUSE
Sale of home helped to raise funds for rebuilding in Long Beach, Mississippi
Jul 31, 2006

Working together with the City of Suwanee to raise funds for a city devastated by last year's hurricanes, Richport Properties is pleased to announce that its Hurricane Relief House has been sold. Lynne Mouchet is the proud owner of the Hurricane Relief House in Stonecypher, a neo-traditional community of three- and four-bedroom Craftsman-style homes in Historic Suwanee.

Working with the City of Long Beach, Miss., Richport Properties, along with many of the builder's trade partners, contributed labor and supplies to minimize the costs associated with construction of the home. In June, Richport donated $30,560 (in anticipated proceeds from the sale of the home) to the City of Long Beach during Suwanee's Big Splash event, a fundraiser for the Gulf Coast community.

Ms. Mouchet, along with her two Bichon Frises, moved into their new home on Friday, July 21. Featuring the Nelson floorplan, the new home has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, a keeping room and a study. Adding charm to the home, hardwoods run throughout the main level and heavy trim throughout the primary living areas.

"During Richport's marketing of the home, they encouraged potential buyers to be a hero," said Ms. Mouchet. "However, I am not a hero, I am just blessed."
Located roughly halfway between Gulfport and Pass Christian and between I-10 and the Gulf Coast Highway, Long Beach is a city of 18,000 that was devastated by last year's hurricanes. In Long Beach, alone, 95 percent of the community’s businesses were damaged, with many of them closed. In addition to rebuilding, cleaning up the areas ravished by water from the hurricanes was a necessity.

"At Richport Properties, we believe in building a better world," said Lee Williams, Vice President of Communities Development and Marketing for Richport Properties. "This extends well beyond building new homes. We were very saddened by the destruction caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and wanted to help in any way we could. So, we did what we do best. We asked the City of Suwanee to research and identify a community in need of our help. And, with the support of our trade partners and the City of Suwanee, we were able to donate profits from the sale of a home that will help Long Beach rebuild."

At Stonecypher, Craftsman-style cluster homes feature covered front porches where owners and guests can visit on cool evenings. Features such as marble fireplaces and 9-foot ceilings on the first floor make the homes as welcoming on the inside as they are inviting from the outside. The community features a 6-acre natural conservation area donated to the Gwinnett Open Land Trust by Richport Properties. When the neighborhood is complete, this area will offer homeowners a common place to enjoy the outdoors and build community spirit. And, sidewalks will connect the homes and create an easy walk to PlayTown Suwanee and other Old Town Suwanee amenities.

Children at Stonecypher attend Level Creek Elementary, Lanier Middle and North Gwinnett High schools.

To visit the community, take 85 North to Exit 111. Turn left on Lawrenceville-Suwanee. Drive pass Buford Highway and turn left on Main Street. Turn right on Stonecypher Road and drive to the end of road. Stonecypher will be on the right side of street.
